What are you passionate about?

My passions lie in the beauty of nature, the thrill of travel, the power of music, and the fulfillment of community service. I actively pursue these passions through hiking, singing in concerts and cultural events, and volunteering in local community projects. I view a board membership in CCG as a privilege to contribute to the enrichment of our communities.

Where is your affinity with the art and culture world?

As an environmental biologist and avid hiker, I am deeply connected to the natural world. Besides this, I am also a freelance backing vocalist. My passion for music, particularly our traditional Tumba and Seú, as well as contemporary genres, has further enriched my understanding of the interplay between nature, culture, and art. This unique perspective allows me to appreciate how our environment inspires artistic expression, and how art, in turn, shapes our cultural identity and environmental consciousness.

What dream/wish do you have regarding the future of Art and Culture in the Caribbean?

I envision a future where artists are duly valued for their creations and art and culture are celebrated as the heart and soul of the Caribbean. I dream of a region of proud and empowered communities where tourism thrives by authentically showcasing our abundant natural treasures and rich cultural heritage, rather than compromising our unique identity. By valuing and preserving our artistic, cultural, and natural treasures, we can ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
